HARK! Kimber Speaketh on Mom-eth! (I’d Listen Up ‘Fize You)

Hark! Tis I, Kimber the Magnificent. Being all brilliant and beautiful and everything. With an important FYI about The ‘Ole Curmudgeon. You know it’s important cuz I say it is. So, I’d listen up ‘fize you, Cookie. Here it is:

Her Royal Momness, aka: The ‘Ole Curmudgeon, Her Royal Crankiness, She Who Must Be Obeyed, was diagnosed with a “chronic, progressive disease” in August. (Not cancer).

There is no cure. They can slow the disease progression. Possibly arrest it.

But they can’t cure it.

Yeah. It was a huge shock to me, too. Especially cuz The Ole Curmudgeon is fit and active. Has been her whole life. In fact, Mom’s been acing them thar annual wellness visit thingies for centuries. Then all of a sudden, a routine screening and POOF! The roof caved in.

This diagnosis took us all by surprise. Especially The Ole Curmudgeon, who incidentally has no symptoms and feels fine. But the test results say otherwise. Stupid test results!

We’re still trying to wrap our heads around this diagnosis and navigating treatment options. And trying to work out how to pay for it. Insurance doesn’t cover everything needed.

So. If you don’t see us for awhile, not to fret. We’re just taking a blogging break as we try to figure out what’s next.

In the meantime, never fear. Cuz Her Momness has the best “medicine” in the whole wide world: ME!! And you can bet your life she’s getting the best care on the planet, courtesy of Yours Truly. So there!
